Use a Non-Local Offering where:

  • income Income is to be shared among a conference, union, division; and/or
  • tax Tax deductibility is required

Offerings which need to roll up to a higher organisation need to be created as Non Local Offerings. Non Non-Local Offerings are usually created by a Union, Conference or Division. Churches can only create Non-Local offerings Offerings that stay 100% with the church, so churches would not usually use this feature. Instead, they would create an Income or Liability account and set up the eGiving details in it.

View or edit a Non-Local Offering 

1Go to the Admin menu, then click Non-Local Offerings.

A List list of existing offerings will appear that have already been created.

If you wish to search inactive offerings as well, click on the 'Include inactive offerings' checkbox and click Search

5Search existing non local offerings: at the Include Inactive offerings field, click the drop-down arrow and select Yes, then click Search3

Click on the offering to be viewed/edited and the details will appear in the pane on the right.

If any changes are made, click Save. Otherwise click Cancel.

   

Create a Non-Local Offering

Go to the Admin menu, then click Non-Local Offerings.

A list of

all non local offerings appears, check the offering has not already been created.6No offering currently exists - see step 7;
Offering does exist - double-click to open the offering and move to step 5

If the desired offering has not currently exist, click on theImage RemovedButton.

Enter the Offering Name. Click in the Income Account Name, or just press tab. The income and clearing account names will be created automatically with a derivative of the offering name.

9Under the offerings tab, fill in the Classification and Roll-up Percentages. 10

Fill in the distribution, filter, classification and tax details.  Ensure at the 'Active' check box has been selected. and then click Save. 
Note the Income Account Number and Clearing Account Number will be created automatically. once Save is clicked (step 7).

If the offering is an eGiving offering, fill in the eGiving Offering Name and the eGiving Description under the eGiving tab.

If you do not wish for this offering to show on eGiving, make sure the 'Hide from eGiving' checkbox is selected.

existing offerings will appear.

Click the New button.

Complete the following fields:

  • Offering Name - 
  • Levy - 
  • Available From - 
  • Available To - 
  • Classification - 
  • Roll-up Percentages - 
    • Effective Date - this is a new field, which specifies when these rates are effective as at. For example, if the effective date is August 2022, then any organisation that closes August 2022 and later will get the new rate. If a church is late and is just closing July, the July rate is used to roll up to the conference. The conference may already be in the August period, so when the conference closes August, those funds would go on to the union at the August rate.

  • Notes - 

Area tab

Select all the organisations that are able to use this offering. If selected, the entity can record transactions using this sub-account, and the offering will be available to show on eGiving (Australia and New Zealand only).

If tax deductibility is allowed for this offering, click the Add button

For Australia - Certificate number = DGR's ABN (Deductible Gift Recipients), Certificate holder = DGR's Organisation name

Do a search or scroll to the applicable offering and double-click on it. Once in the Non Local Offering Edit screen select the Tax tab, make the necessary changes and then click Save

For New Zealand - selecting the country name from the list is sufficient; a Certificate number or Certificate Holder name is not required

7. Click Save.

8. The eGiving setup screen will automatically open, you can complete the offering's setup in eGiving. For example:(info) If you would like a picture added to the eGiving list, please have an appropriate/senior team member forward a file (bmp or jpg) to servicedesk as per Showing offering on eGiving

If the offering is to be available on eGiving, untick the "Hide from eGiving" checkbox. Then complete the remaining fields.
