How to shorten Use a shortened URL (Uniform Resource Locator; a webpage address) and obtain /or a QR (Quick Response) code in your posts and your event promotional material, to make it easier for guests to quickly arrive at your event webpage.

| 1 | Shorten a URLIn a web browser, navigate to Google URL Shortener https://goo.gl/ Enter your original URL and click Shorten URL Tip: Login to your Google account to avoid completing the 'I'm not a robot' step

| 2 | Your short URL appears. Click the copy icon next to the short URL (ready to paste into your email/promotional material) Click Done

| 3 | Obtain a QR codeTo obtain a QR code for your Event, after completing steps 1 and 2 above, the original URL will be listed below the 'Simply your links' field.
Move the mouse pointer to the right of the row, click the more button and select QR code

| 4 | The QR code is shown in a popup window
To save the QR code as an image, right-click over the QR code, select Save image as... from the menu that appears, select a folder location and click Save. Note .png is the default image file type, click the drop-down list to save as a different type of file. |
