Shorten a URL and obtain a QR code
Use a shortened URL (Uniform Resource Locator; a webpage address) and/or a QR (Quick Response) code in your posts and your event promotional material, to make it easier for guests to quickly arrive at your event webpage.

2 | Your short URL appears. Click Copy icon next to the short URL (ready to paste into your email/promotional material) Open the item where the short URL is to appear (email/document/etc), paste (right-click and select paste; or Ctrl+V). |
3 | Obtain a QR codeUse a web search engine (e.g. www.google.com) to search for a QR code generator, e.g. https://www.qrcode-monkey.com/ Copy/paste the URL into the QR code generator and press enter, then download the code. You may also be interested in this Youtube video - creating a working QR code in MS Word by downloading the free add-on "QR4Office" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFYDC3g6u7o - this is useful if you're considering using mail-merge to personalise items related to your event, e.g. add the Attendee ID as a QR code onto a decision/response card. |
