Setting up SMS for myAdventist login

Improve your login security by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) in myAdventist. 2FA is the addition of a second login step. Normally when you log in to an account, you provide a username and password. When two-factor authentication is enabled, you also must provide that additional information before you're given access to the account.

Adding 2FA to your myAdventist login means that means that once you enter your username and password, you can then receive an SMS to your mobile phone or otherwise enter a code generated by an Authenticator app (either on your mobile/tablet/pc/mac) to complete the login process. Instructions for SMS are below, or see Authenticator instructions

Setting up multi-factor authentication using SMS

1

At the top right, click your name and select My profile

2

Your mobile phone needs to be Verified - if it is not shown as Verified on the Details tab, complete the instructions at How to Add and Verify Mobile Numbers in myAdventist

3

On the Security tab, at Two Factor Authentication click Manage

4

Ensure that Code by SMS is shown in the drop-down list; click Get SMS code...

5

Type the code received by SMS, click Enable

6

Two Factor Authentication will be shown as Enabled.

Thank you for improving security by enabling multi factor authentication for your myAdventist login. An SMS code will need to be entered during your future log-ins to myAdventist (keep your mobile available).

Disabling multi-factor authentication using SMS

1

On the Security section, select wo Factor Authentication

2

Enter the code from the Google Authenticator app, click Disable...
