Shorten a URL

In a web browser, navigate to Google URL Shortener https://goo.gl/

Enter your original URL and click Shorten URL

Tip: Login to your Google account to avoid completing the 'I'm not a robot' step

Your short URL appears. Click the copy icon next to the short URL (ready to paste into your email/promotional material)

Click Done

Obtain a QR code

To obtain a QR code for your Event, after completing steps 1 and 2 above, the original URL will be listed below the 'Simply your links' field.

Move the mouse pointer to the right of the row, click the more button and select QR code

The QR code is shown in a popup window

To save the QR code as an image, right-click over the QR code, select Save image as... from the menu that appears, select a folder location and click Save. Note .png is the default image file type, click the drop-down list to save as a different type of file.
