How to Change Staff Password in MyAdventist

The below instructions are meant for users who are not connected to the SPD network / Domain. For example staff that are traveling or church treasurers.

If you are connected to the SPD Network and you have been issued an email address by ACTS (eg. (adventist.org.au, adventist.org.nz, adra.org.au, adra.org.nz, adventistmedia.org.au, or signspublishing.org.au) kindly refer to this link Password Management to know the right guide you can follow.

Login to myadventist.org using the password that you would like to change.

Then click on your name that is located at the top right corner of the page and click Change staff password…

A warning message will show (see screenshot below).

Click Next...

Enter your current details and click next

Then enter your new details ensuring that your password meets the strength requirements (including not including your user name in the password) and click Save.

Note that the strength requirements may be different to those shown in the screenshot below. Refer to the Password policy (you will need to enter your username and password to view this page)

A confirmation will then show saying that your password has been changed.

A little effort to make the password more complex goes a very long way. Increasing the length of a password even just by a few characters, or by adding numbers or special characters, makes it much more difficult to crack. For demonstrative purposes, the table below shows how much longer it may take a hacker to break a list of progressively more complex passwords by trying different combinations of the password one after another.
