How to create a direct link and QR code to an eGiving Offering

You may wish to promote a particular offering listed on eGiving. To make it easier for givers to find the offering, you can make a link that goes straight to it on the eGiving website.

This can be done in two ways:

  1. Have a church already selected in the offering link (useful for local churches promoting an offering to their congregation). E.g. https://egiving.org.au/Fox%20Valley%20SDA%20Church?filter=Blind%20and%20Hearing%20Impaired

  2. Link to the required offering, and the giver selects their church (useful for Conferences, Unions or Division promoting an offering). E.g. https://egiving.org.au/?filter=Blind%20and%20Hearing%20Impaired

Note: %20 is equivalent to the space character.

Method 1 - Church already selected in the offering link

  1. Log into ACAS and find the account with the eGiving details, or just use the exact name that is listed on eGiving.

  2. Note the name of the offering in the eGiving Offering Name field as this will be used in the filter.

  3. Go to the eGiving website and select your church.

  4. In the address bar, type ?filter=Adopt a Clinic at the end of the address already there and press Enter. This should display the page with just the Adopt a Clinic offering showing on it.

  5. Copy the link in the Address bar and paste it in communications as required.

This process can be used on any offering, just by typing ?filter=[Insert part of the eGiving Offering Name field information from ACAS here] once you have selected your church on the eGiving website.

For example https://egiving.org.au/newhope?filter=tv

Or https://egiving.org.au/newhope?filter=tv%20ministry

Method 2 - Link to the required offering, and the donor selects their church

  1. Log into ACAS and find the account with the eGiving details(if you have an ACAS account). Else use the exact name that is listed on eGiving.

  2. Note the name of the offering in the eGiving Offering Name field as this will be used in the filter. In our example, we will use the Blind and Hearing Impaired (Tax deductible) offering.

  3. Go to the eGiving website and at the end of the URL, type ?filter=Blind and Hearing Impaired (Tax deductible)

This won't appear to do anything on the screen. To test it has worked, select a church from the list and click Select. Only offerings with the words "Blind and Hearing Impaired (Tax deductible)" in them should be displayed.

4.  When you are satisfied that the link shows the expected offering, copy the filtered link [e.g. https://egiving.org.au/?filter=Blind%20and%20Hearing%20Impaired%20(Tax%20deductible) ] and paste it where required.

Creating a QR code

Use a web search engine (e.g. www.google.com) to search for a QR code generator, or use the following link to create a QR code. https://www.qrcode-monkey.com/

Copy/paste the URL into the QR code generator and press Enter, then download the code.
